After many years in UEFA Champions League, Arsenal is ready to start their adventure in Europa League this season, against FC Koln, in Group H opening round.
Arsenal are clearly the biggest side in this group and they have no excuse if they do not finish first. Wenger's team have shown an unimpressive form in the first part of the season, struggling in Premier League. They did well few days ago against Bournemouth, winning 3-0 here, and they are ready to get back to top form. Wenger has some problems in the squad, since Cazorla and Coquelin are still injured, while Sanchez, Chambers and Wilshere are doubts.
FC Koln would certainly be happy with a draw here and we expect them to field a 4-4-2 classic formation, with Cordoba and Osako up front. The Germans want the second position in this group, but they started very bad this season. More exactly. FC Koln lost all three matches in Bundesliga so far, 0-1 to Gladbach, 1-3 vs Hamburg and 0-3 to Augsburg. They faced Arsenal twice before, in 2011 and 2012, both games being friendlies and lost by Koln (1-2 and 0-4).
Arsenal vs FC Koln probable lineups:
Arsenal (3-4-3): Ospina - Mustafi, Mertesacker, Monreal - Bellerin, Elneny, Xhaka, Kolasinac - Walcott, Giroud, Iwobi.
FC Koln (4-4-2): Horn - Klunter, Heintz, Mere, Hector - Zoller, Lehmann, Hoger, Bittencourt - Cordoba, Osako.
